Refers to the planning and placement of Dental Implants through the combined usage of ct-scan 3d images, “virtual planning” and a computer guided surgical stent that guides the entire procedure.

What are the advantages of this technique over traditional implant surgeries ?
- There is no need for surgical blade or even sutures.
- Less trauma means less pain and less inflammation
- This is a more accurate way to place implants
- Reduces the chances for surgical mistakes
What steps are taken to perform a computer guided surgery ?
- Dr Mongalo will make an scanning prosthesis used to take a ct-scan
- The ct-scan images are converted into a 3 dimensional working model
- Dr Mongalo identifies important anatomical structures such as nerves, sinuses and blood vessels
- Implants are placed on the computer , this is known as “virtual surgery”
- A computer surgical guide will allow dr mongalo to place implants as planned in the computer
